The National Ballet Company (CNB) presents the pieces “Symphony of Sorrows” and “Cantata” in this show at CAE.
SYMPHONY OF SORROWS
A light touch on our sensations on the fringes of human reality. Our bodies form an organism that glimpses the image of what we have in our subconscious. A universe inside each body turned into music. As if we could see every musical nuance while living small moments that are strongly familiar to us.

CANTATA
“Cantata” is a choreography full of the vibrant colours typical of southern Italy. The passionate and visceral gestures evoke a kind of Mediterranean and wild beauty. An instinctive and vigorous dance explores the various facets of the relationship between man and woman: seduction, passion, quarrels, jealousy. “Cantata” pays homage to Italian culture and musical tradition, a popular creation in the highest sense of the word. It uses Italian music from the 18th and 19th centuries, from lullabies to Salentine pizziche and Neapolitan serenades. In this ballet, created from an unexpected encounter with a group of musicians from Naples and Puglia, dance and music blend and intertwine.
