A Spaniard of Lebanese and Armenian descent, considered one of the most virtuoso contemporary violinists, Ara Malikian is performing a concert at CAE as part of his latest world tour. According to Ara Malikian: ‘This tour is the result of watching my son grow up, it’s the result of me growing up alongside him, it’s all those sounds and melodies that try to mould what I felt and what inspired me from him and from life through him. It’s an encounter with the child I couldn’t be and would have dreamed of being. It’s a tribute to those beings who are as free as a free bird.
This tour is full of dinosaurs, robotic squids, time machines, flying pianos and bilingual mimes. This album is that thing I’d forgotten is so powerful; the Magic of finding each day and each path fascinating, no matter what they bring.’
