‘In most fish families, after the mother lays the eggs and the father fertilises them, no one is left to guard the eggs.
But this isn’t always the case, as is the case with seahorses, bonefish, tilapia, kurtus gulliveri, pipefish, catfish and many others.
In these cases, not only does one of the parents look after the eggs with great care, but – surprise of surprises – that parent is the father. It really is true: marvellous things do happen at the bottom of the sea.
