‘The Drawlab Bones & Slides’ is an innovative exhibition that fuses drawing with music. Hugo Pedrosa’s project features 20 drawings based on an album of original songs. Using QR codes distributed throughout the gallery, the public will be able to listen in full to the album that serves as the soundtrack for the exhibition, bringing to life the characters and landscapes illustrated by the artist.
The drawings show influences from manga, cartooning, abstractionism and realism, interwoven in an alternative sound that explores jazz with rock and experimental music, using the trombone as the main soloist in the compositions. The disc includes the release of several singles. The first, entitled ‘Powerbrasser’, will be released on 21 March on all streaming platforms. This song features João Maneta on drums, Diogo Lapo on electric bass and Hugo Pedrosa on trombone, electric guitar and music production.
