“João Reis 1889-1982 | The Intuition of Painting: a realistic testimony of the history of Figueira da Foz
The inauguration of the permanent exhibition “João Reis 1889-1982 | A Intuição da Pintura” will take place on September 4th, at 5pm, in the Santos Rocha Municipal Museum. It is the result of a protocol collaboration between the Figueira da Foz City Hall and the family of João Reis, the depositary of his estate. Comprising around 80 works (7 belonging to the MMSR painting collection), it is organised into specific sections, revealing the artistic phases and diversity of João Reis.
“João Reis 1889-1982 | The Intuition of Painting” is a realistic testimony of the history of Figueira da Foz, which the artist was so fond of, and a valuable contribution to the understanding of the region’s experiences.
With free admission, the exhibition can be visited from Tuesday to Friday, from 9.30am to 6pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm to 7pm.
From 16 September, the MMRS will resume its winter timetable, so that visits can be made from Tuesday to Friday, from 9.30am to 5pm, and on Saturdays from 2pm to 7pm.
