Synopsis:
Aldo Lima and José Pedro Gomes are back on stage in the comedy “Pela Ponta do Nariz”, directed by Ricardo Neves-Neves. This is a Portuguese adaptation of “Par le bout du nez”, by French playwrights Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de La Patellière.
A few hours before his inauguration speech, the newly elected Prime Minister is plagued by a crippling nose itch that manifests itself every time he tries to make a speech. Any physical causes for the unusual disorder are immediately ruled out. Unable to contain the irrepressible urge to scratch himself, and faced with the strong possibility of exposing himself to ridicule in front of the whole country, he has no choice but to seek the services of a prestigious psychiatrist. Despite his disbelief and lack of confidence in psychoanalysis, he is forced to give in…. And he only has one hour to do it. As time goes by, secrets begin to surface and the two men become entangled in an amusing power struggle.
